dating disasters

In dating, there may not be any written rules on what you need to say, and how you should behave and act. However, it will be best if you know the right things to do in order to succeed in dating. You will want to make sure that you can manage the beginning of your relationship, especially when you really are interested with the person. So while you are still in the getting to know stage;

Here are some of the mistakes that you need to avoid to prevent dating disasters.

1. Too much or too less texting

It is completely fine to be attracted and to feel head over heels in love with someone the second you met them. However, if you are overly texting them or calling them or chatting them, you will look like you are a very needy or clingy person. It might overwhelm the other person and it might just turn them off. You may be fond of texting but they might have the same level of eagerness when it comes to this method of communication. On the other hand, if you text less often, it might also send a different message like you are not really that interested and they might make decisions you may not like. So just respond and get in touch in a timely manner.

2. Rushing the relationship

This is another common mistake in dating that leads to disaster. While you are still in the getting to know phase, it will be best if you savor the moment, the excitement and the thrill. That’s because you will never experience the same feeling twice. There is no reason to rush and you will get there eventually. If you rush to take the relationship to the next level too soon, the other person might just be not be ready and you might just end up losing them.

3. Replacing real conversation with chats and texts

There is no better way to get to know a person better than by spending time with them and talking to them in person. While it is okay to communicate through text and chat sometimes, nothing beats personal talks especially when you have misunderstandings. It is not a good idea to fight or apologize over text. It also feels better to have deep and personal conversations with someone you are trying to get to know more.

4. Thinking too much about commitment

When you are still in the getting to know part, you should not think or worry too much about commitment and being exclusive to each other. You are still trying to know the person better, right? What if you discover all along that this is not the type of person you actually are ready to commit your life to? If you are just dating, do not be too hard on yourself. Just know the person, and give yourself enough time to do that. And at the same time, you can still be free to know other people as well. You are not yet official or exclusive. Also have the same expectation that the other person can see other people as well. Be careful not to make them feel about being needy with exclusivity because it might push them away especially when they are not yet ready.

5. Neglecting your gut feeling or inner voice

When you are attracted to someone, it feels like you have a lot of things in common when you are just getting to know each other. You will feel like you are really compatible with each other. While there really are many couples who are compatible, you should still listen to the voice inside of you. If you feel like something is really off about this person, do not be blinded. Try to discover what that is. Your gut feeling can never go wrong in warning you if there is something you should be alarmed about. Just because it feels good when you are together does not mean it will still be the same in the future. You might just be wasting your time trying to make a relationship work that is not even mean to happen.
